Nanoflix, by Jakob Hall, is a visualization studio as much as a conceptual idea and an opportunity for a great scientific outreach project. The goal is to communicate research in molecular bioscience in a new and compelling way. This can be accomplished with state-of-the-art 3D visualization techniques and a narrative based on scientific data. The approach has many useful applications in research and education but also great potential to reach a much wider audience.
Consider a fully customized animation or illustration that represents your field of research, whether it’s a molecular mechanism of action (MOA) or a medical concept. Explain, educate or persuade to invest in your science with captivating and scientifically accurate imagery. For most uses, a high-quality image or video clip is sufficient, but the display options are limitless (immersive 360° projections, stereoscopic 3D vision, etc).

If you are a professor, researcher or writer, in need of accurate scientific and captivating state-of-the-art visuals for publication, education or communication, this could be an excellent oppurtunity for collaboration. I’m dedicated to high-end 3D visualization of life’s smallest building blocks, including large structures, such as cells, membranes and viruses and macromolecules such as proteins, DNA, RNA, and their complexes, as well as small biomolecules and their pathways.
I hold a M.Sc. in Molecular Biology and I’ve contributed to several research projects at Stockholm University and the Swedish Research Council, resulting in a licentiate thesis entitled Bioscript3D and the new Swedish portal for national research – Forskning.se and several other outreach projects within the scope of life sciences. Additionally, I have extensive experience in web development, 2D/3D graphics, advanced image processing, digital photography, video and postproduction – attaining an unique mix of skills from over 25 years of assigned work.
Want to show bioscience to the world? Contact me and we can talk about how 3D animation and illustration can benefit your project.
